The Monsters Are the Men’: Inside a Thriving Sex Trafficking Trade in Florida

This recent post from the New York Times is about a sex trafficking scandal that took place in Jupiter, Fla. A health inspector noticed that there was an unusual amount of clothes, food, and condoms in this particular spa. After further investigation it appeared that women were living there, sleeping on the massage tables and without a kitchen or washer and dryer. They were being paid to have sex with these men against their will.

This works because ICE and immigration is such a big topic today and sex trafficking is such a problem that continually increases around the world. Some of these particular women had their passports confiscated and if they needed to go anywhere they were bussed by the owner. It is reported that Robert R. Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, was one of the patrons to this particular shop. This works as well because it relates it to a household name. It essentially makes the problem more real and puts a face to this disgusting situation.
